What is it?


The chemical name for ecstasy is 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine, or MDMA.  MDMA is a chemically produced drug that acts as a stimulant and hallucinogen. Ecstasy, usually taken as a tablet or capsule, causes changes in your brain that affect mood, energy and sleep.

Risks:


    •    Grinding of teeth and jaw pain,
    •    Sweating
    •    Increased blood pressure and heart rate
    •    Anxiety or panic attacks
    •    Blurred vision
    •    Nausea
    •    Vomiting and convulsions
    •    Damage the brain cells that release serotonin
    •    Confusion
    •    Irritability
    •    Paranoia
    •    Depression
    •    Memory impairment or sleep problems
    •    Jaundice and liver damage.
